artist,

Early 60s
I’m sure I was born (1945) with a paint brush in my hand. I can’t remember a period in my life where I wasn't drawing or painting. This lead to the inevitable comment "You’ll have to be an artist when you grow up". So here I am, (I’ve not grown up yet though). Everyone remembers their college days with great enthusiasm. I was at Goldsmiths College in New Cross, London, which was only a cycle ride away from where I lived. I studied portrait painting and commercial art. All that back in the early1960s. I took a job with the press in the artist department, but alas we  parted company, after which I was to explore my vocation as a professional artist. Starting with oil painting in the style of the old masters, to nowadays where I embrace watercolour and silhouette art.

Recently (1983 to 1994) I lived and painted at Bradfield near Manningtree known as Constable Country (after the great Suffolk Artist John Constable). I now have a custom built studio at Great Clacton that I share with my artistic wife Brenda. We sell our paintings in local art exhibitions, on the net and at London's Bayswater Road on Sundays. Have you been there?
